‘The Nightingale and the Rose’ is a story written by Oscar Wilde .The
story tells about the relationship between man and nature. The Nightingale
sacrifices her life for true and ideal love.

BEFORE THE LESSON

The pictures you have seen now are the
characters of the story, ‘The
Nightingale and the Rose’. We are going to learn the first few
paragraphs of the story.
AUTHOR INTRODUCTION
The teacher introduces author by showing a
picture of Oscar Wilde.
DEVELOPEMENT
Teacher reads the
story and explains it to the students.

The teacher asks the students to go through the
passage silently and mark their reading using appropriate
punctuation marks.
